Designed to help Install charge points for local authorities. The scheme is designed to help local authorities. Install EV chargers for residents without any form of street parking. now everyone can enjoy the benefits of electric vehicles.
Funding of up to £7,500 towards a charge point. This providing EV chargers for drivers who can’t have a home charging point because they have no off-street parking.
The scheme is funded by the Office for Low Emissions Vehicles (OLEV) and run by the Energy Savings Trust (EST). Funding is available for up to 75% of the capital costs of procuring & installing the charge point & an associated dedicated parking bay.

Eligibility of the On-Street Residential Charge point Scheme
To claim the grant local authorities must have secured support from the relevant highways agencies. The funding is available on a first come, first served basis.
Other eligibility criteria are listed below:
- The charge points must be in residential areas
- They must be areas without off-street parking
- The proposed infrastructure must meet current/future demand as planned
- Accessible to residents
- Requires residential parking permits
- Potentially arranging a dedicated bay
Must be added to National Charge point Registry (NCR)
